A cold morning surrounded by beautiful cars
Last weekend, I visited the pop-up event featuring John Scotti’s classic car collection, an underground treasure trove of automotive history. The turnout was not bad at all, maybe 20-25 people at its peak, which made the whole experience feel like a private showcase rather than a packed event. I popped in my AirPods, tuned out the world, and just focused on capturing the timeless personality of these machines.
Why Classic Cars Just Hit Different
There’s something about classic cars that modern ones just can’t replicate. It’s not just about horsepower or performance—it’s about presence. The lines, the chrome, the way these cars command attention even while sitting still. Walking between them felt like flipping through different eras, each car telling its own story.
Standout Moment: The Testarossa
If I had to pick a favorite from the day, it’d be the Ferrari Testarossa. That wide rear end, the side strakes, the unmistakable 80s energy—it’s a car that doesn’t just look fast, it looks cinematic. Seeing it up close, tucked among American muscle and elegant cruisers, was a surreal contrast.
Other Gems & Surprises
Aside from the Italian icon, there was a solid mix of muscle cars, classic cruisers, and even a few drag-ready machines. One of the more interesting finds was a covered car tucked away in a dimly lit corner—always makes you wonder what kind of history is hiding underneath.
A Nod to the Montreal Car Scene
One cool surprise was running into the Lamborghini Montreal team. It’s always great to see people who genuinely love cars, whether they’re restoring classics or pushing the latest supercars to their limits.
